Programming with Pride!

  Did you know that Indigenous culture has been a part of Rossbrook House programming for many years? Today, a huge percentage of our staff and participants are of Indigenous heritage therefore, we must look at our programming through an Indigenous lens to align with Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action. Pow Wow 2023

Rossbrook House 2023 Pow Wow was held Thursday, May 18, 5:30pm Community dancers and drummers will take part in this annual Pow Wow. As well as children and youth from Rossbrook House and the three off-campus schools. The annual Pow Wow is another way that Rossbrook House has supported its community, bringing dancers and drummers together. Thank You to Red River Co-op for supporting the Healthy Kitchen program at Rossbrook House.   With the ongoing support- of Red River Co-op, Rossbrook House continues to provide 2 meals a day to children and youth who drop in after school and on weekends, as well as the students in the Eagles’ Circle school program.   Red River Coop has been a supporter of Rossbrook House for many years. Stuff the Bus

  Thank you Winnipeg Paramedics & friends!   Winnipeg Paramedics put out a call to stuff the bus and pack an ambulance full of toys and warm clothing for Rossbrook House children and youth! The response was overwhelming.   Two filled ambulances arrived at Rossbrook House with dozens of volunteers and Santa! Participants received gifts, and a hot meal.     A line of volunteer students as well as the children of Rossbrook House, helped to carry in the DOZENS of boxes and bags that included gifts for the participants, plus other donations of socks, warm outerwear, craft supplies, beading

50 excited shoppers took a trip to Toys R Us with $50 each to spend! Children and youth from Rossbrook House were accompanied by youth from Vincent Massey Collegiate Key Club on a shopping trip December 3, 2022, thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Winnipeg. Kiwanis Club of Winnipeg generously arranged for 50 children and youth to go on a shopping trip- for themselves- to Toys R Us. Scholarships 2022 Highlights

Congratulations to a record number of scholarship recipients. Rossbrook House annually awards students in the Rossbrook House community with a variety of Scholarships. This year, 18 were handed out at a ceremony held on November 3. Thank you to all the supporters who make the scholarships possible. Evan James O’Reilly Memorial Scholarship: The Evan James O’Reilly memorial scholarship was created by an anonymous donor, who gifted this award as a way to pay tribute to Sister Bernadette O’Reilly’s nephew who passed away in 2018.   Ashton Clasen is a Rising Sun graduate from the Class of ’22. Rossbrook House Necklace

Hilary Druxman creates a ‘Good Works’ necklace for Rossbrook House in collaboration with a 14-year-old Rossbrook House youth. Hilary Druxman Design gives back to the community through the creation of her Good Works pieces. In partnership with several organizations, Hilary creates a one-of-a-kind necklace or bracelet that represents the spirit of the non-profit. Hilary spent several months with Rossbrook House youth, 14-year-old Breanna Mink. Going through many inspiring sketches of Breanna’s, Hilary and her team selected one that represents the guiding principle of Rossbrook House; No child who does not want to be alone, should ever have to be.
