Exciting New Project

47 years ago, an empty United Church on the corner of Ross Avenue and Sherbrook Street in Winnipeg became Rossbrook House. Young people were often found lounging and, sometimes, resting on the left-behind pews. Today, while we still hold the values created by Sister Geraldine MacNamara and the youth who created this inner-city drop-in centre, a lot has changed. Rossbrook House remains a safe haven for children and youth. Pow Wow 23 Highlights

Rossbrook House 2023 Pow Wow was held Thursday, May 18, 5:30pm     Community dancers and drummers took part in this annual Pow Wow. As well as children and youth from Rossbrook House and the three off-campus schools. The annual Pow Wow is another way that Rossbrook House has supported its community, bringing dancers and drummers together.         Children and youth have been learning how to dance for decades and learning the significance of the Pow Wow circle.       Pow Wow practices at Rossbrook House began in April and ran until the Pow Wow- for all

Programming with Pride!

  Did you know that Indigenous culture has been a part of Rossbrook House programming for many years? Today, a huge percentage of our staff and participants are of Indigenous heritage therefore, we must look at our programming through an Indigenous lens to align with Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action. Thanks Red River Coop

Thank You to Red River Co-op for supporting the Healthy Kitchen program at Rossbrook House.   With the ongoing support- of Red River Co-op, Rossbrook House continues to provide 2 meals a day to children and youth who drop in after school and on weekends, as well as the students in the Eagles’ Circle school program.   Red River Coop has been a supporter of Rossbrook House for many years.
