Henderson Scholarship recipient (2020 & 2021 & 2022)

 

The David Henderson Scholarship of the Bruce and Ryan Henderson Family Foundation, honours one of Rossbrook House’s earliest supporters; Mr. David Henderson.

David knew Sister Geraldine MacNamara when Rossbrook was just starting up in 1976. At that time David was serving as Winnipeg’s Commissioner of Planning and Social Services and was instrumental in getting the City onboard as a sustaining funder.

2022 Scholarship

Sonja is a 3rd-year student in the Five-year Integrated Bachelor of Education Program at the Winnipeg Education Centre at the University of Winnipeg. Her future goal is to work with inner-city youth.

We are pleased to award Sonja the Henderson Scholarship.

2021 Recipient

Sonja Fontaine began her 3rd year of the integrated Bachelor of Education program at the University of Winnipeg with online and in-person classes. Sonja’s future goal is to work in the inner city with early years students.

After graduating from Red River College’s Educational Assistant program in June of 2013, Sonja was working as an E.A. at Gordon Bell High School.

We are pleased to award Sonja a Henderson Scholarship. Congratulations Sonja!

Sonja was also a Henderson Scholarship recipient in 2020.

In 2019 Sonja received a Sister Geraldine MacNamara Scholarship after beginning the integrated Bachelor of Education program.

Family Ties

Sonja enjoys spending time with family and has strong ties to Rossbrook House. She is a mother of 5 children who are Rossbrook House participants and 2 are graduates of Rising Sun.
