Summer 2023

Rossbrook House and the Foundation were grateful to receive just over 17,000 entries into June’s Great Canadian Giving Challenge. While we didn’t win the grand prize of $20,000, we are appreciative of the support we received. Support that was directed to summer programming. The Challenge may be over, however, summer is still going strong!

“I like summer because we go swimming at the outdoor pools and walk to the park.” – Emily, age 10

Donations in support of Rossbrook House are integral to helping ensure that children and youth continue to have a safe place to belong, play, learn and become…. all summer long!

We started this summer to raise $50,000 and with one month left we’re just over $10,000 short. You can help us reach our goal by donating online by clicking here.*

Adam, age 14, looks forward to “playing football, hanging out with my friends at Rossbrook House and going to Camp Maskwa with them.”

July was busy with trips to the beach, parks, pools, museums, and more. Click here to experience the fun yourself through the Rossbrook House YouTube channel.

“My favourite things to do are van rides, going to the beach, going to parks. I am hoping we do more fun outings and activities.” – Anika, age 13

August will continue to provide fun excursions, arts & crafts, van rides, meals, a safe place 24 hours a day & more for Winnipeg children & youth.

Kaleb, age 9, likes “going swimming at the beach and going to splash pads with Rossbrook House in the summer.”

Keeping the doors open, 24 hours, when school is out is a long-standing tradition at Rossbrook House. Providing a safe space since 1976 for children and youth because ‘no child who does not want to be alone, should ever have to be’.

“I’m looking forward to just being myself this summer. When I’m at Rossbrook House, I get to be me. At Rossbrook House anyone can be who they want to be with no judgment. I’m also looking forward to making new friends. Ever since I came to Rossbrook House I’ve become friends with almost everyone there. They make me laugh and I have a really good time while I’m with them.” – Tristian, age 16
