Hello and thank you for being a Rossbrook House supporter. My history with Rossbrook House began long before I was born. My grandma, Vera Missyabit, was instrumental in building the early Rossbrook House community. Her home was a second Rossbrook House to many of the early participants. There was always something good to eat, and lessons to learn about generosity and caring for the community. She was a beloved source of strength. I consider myself very lucky to have had her as a role model, showing me that we can all make a difference with some kindness.
I am fortunate to have had family support, and the support of Rossbrook House, as a participant growing up. What about the children and youth who don’t have strong supports at home? Thankfully, Rossbrook House is open 365 days a year to provide Winnipeg’s inner-city children and youth with programs, daily meals, friendly faces, and safe rides home.
I see the resilience, strength, and creativity in the children and youth who drop in. I see future leaders. I am inspired every day.
Your support of Rossbrook House programs is appreciated. Please consider donating today to help Rossbrook House continue to provide engaging programs, fun activities, safe rides home, and daily meals to ages 6 to 24. Keeping our doors open 365 days a year has never been more important.
Donating is easy to do. Simply click here.
Cheques can also be dropped off at Rossbrook House, 658 Ross Avenue in Winnipeg.
Help us continue the legacy created by Sister Geraldine MacNamara and early community leaders like Vera Missyabit back in 1976. Your support will help to keep children and youth safe and engaged and ensure that ‘no child who does not want to be alone, should ever have to be’.
Miigwetch,
