COVID-19 Pandemic and Rossbrook House

The COVID-19 Pandemic has compounded the need and the challenge to serve children and youth in our community.

We are staying open around the clock at Rossbrook House as we focus on the basics of food and a safe place to go when so many doors are closed. We continue to balance our need to keep the children and youth, as well as our staff and community, safe.

We are currently operating 24 hours daily so there is always a safe place for children and youth to feel they are not alone. In order to stay safe we are following the guidelines from Provincial Health officials. Our health care professionals have done a tremendous job during these challenging times.

While the staff at Rossbrook House has been focusing on the essentials since March 20, we have also shifted back into activities and outings that will continue to keep children and youth safe while they share new experiences and have fun together.

Smaller group activities and outings have been happening since the beginning of July, like our Learning Always Summer Activity Program, Beach Days, Cultural Outings and Day Camps.

Rossbrook House is once again providing safe rides home for young participants as well as planning for outings in the near future. Vans are cleaned regularly and passengers are given masks to wear whenever seating is close.

This is a constantly changing situation for all of us. We will keep you up to date here and on our Facebook page if or when things change. Stay safe.

At this time Rossbrook House is not accepting donations of used clothing and other used household items. If you have items such as these that you wish to donate to Rossbrook House, we ask that you please call ahead to see if we can accept the item(s).
