Audrey

Audrey has a deep history with Rossbrook House. She was a participant, a student, a youth worker, the Energy Plus coordinator, the Program Manager, the facilitator of the SEED money management program, and a graduate of the Open Roads Facilitation Team.

Scholarship

Audrey received a Rossbrook scholarship for a few years in a row. As a student teacher this allowed Audrey to purchase extra supplies for classroom lessons as well as items to complete her own assignments.

Inspiration

Audrey is a great example of someone who isn’t afraid of following her dreams. She is a mother of 3 and a grandmother. She studied at the University of Winnipeg, working towards her teaching degree. She enjoyed a practicum at Pinkham School, where she saw many of the Rossbrook House participants.

It was the teachers in the inner schools that inspired me as a youth to keep on learning and never give up” so she would like to do the same for future generations.

As of September 2019 Audrey began her teaching career as a grade 7 teacher for Sagkeeng Junior High School.

Audrey shared a quote that she finds rings true:

In a world where everyone tries to be someone else… I am me, that’s all I need to be.
