Summer is on at Rossbrook House! “Summer at Rossbrook House is always memorable. School is out and our doors are open 24 hours a day. It’s a time for fun activities. Everything is free. The two calendars for the children and youth are filled with beach days, Camp Maskwa, traditional teachings, and the summer games. Valerie Henderson first discovered Rossbrook House when she was just 12 years old. Today she is a long-time staff member, a mother, and a grandmother, who has seen many young people walk through the doors of Rossbrook House.   “I’ve been working evenings at Rossbrook House for a couple of decades.   Rossbrook House and the Foundation were grateful to receive just over 17,000 entries into June’s Great Canadian Giving Challenge. While we didn’t win the grand prize of $20,000, we are appreciative of the support we received. Support that was directed to summer programming. Fun and Games 2019

The annual Summer Games at Rossbrook House signal the end of the summer break from school. While it’s sad to say goodbye to such a great summer, the Summer Games are more than just tradition. The children and youth cheer each other on- even though they may be competing for prizes- there is laughter and lots of friendly competition.       Outdoor sports and races, indoor activities- like playing pool and arm wrestling, plus Inuit games and a whole lot of fun!
